GMF completed bulk earthworks and roads under strict environmental and safety standards, for the development of the Mundaring Waste Water Treatment Plant. Initial works involved the large clearance of dense forest area, including large trees and the stripping of 200 millimetres of topsoil over the entire site area.
Our team cautiously moved over 100,000 cubic metres of clay / silty soils from the site, constructed five pad areas and multiple drying beds. Second stage of works included the construction of an overflow sump and implementation of stormwater drainage systems. Road works surrounding the treatment plant were also awarded to GMF on the back of the successful completion of our forward works. Works consisted of all pavement base works and wearing courses.

GMF easily adapted to the site and provided the client new techniques to achieve project requirements. We successfully completed high compaction of clay material on site whilst simultaneously upholding strict health, safety, quality and environmental requirements. GMF maintained tight deadlines and operational schedules for the duration of the project, able to efficiently manage the introduction of multiple design and specification changes.
